Student Programs

Student Ambassador Program
Do you have a student that outshines the rest? A student that is motivated, loves to learn, and is interested in networking with professionals in the direct marketing industry while building their resume? Recommend them for the DMAWEF Student Ambassador Program. The DMAWEF Student Ambassadors act as liaisons between your respective school and the DMAWEF board. For more information on the program and how to apply, click here or contact the Student Coordinator, Danielle Hart, at 443-539-2654.

Mentor for a Day Program
The ‘Mentor for a Day’ program’s intent is to fill the gap between students who are looking into the field of Direct Marketing and DMAW member firms who need to identify new talent to continue to grow and prosper. Prior to this program, students and employers had limited options like internships and job fairs as the main opportunity to meet each other and determine the likely fit between potential employee and employer. The ‘Mentor for a Day’ program will provide both the employer and the student the opportunity to spend a day together at the sponsoring firm’s facilities. Student will be able to visit multiple firms to network with industry insiders and understand the business models of DMAW firms. Sponsoring firms will be able to meet multiple pre-screened students each semester. This program will facilitate professional networking and recruiting between students studying direct marketing and area firms who want to identify new talent. For more information and application click here. Or contact Alan Rich at 301-386-4433.

Collegiate MAXIs
Each academic fall and spring semester, the DMAW EF offers the Mid-Atlantic five state regional Collegiate Maxi Case Competition that provides juniors and seniors as well as graduate students the chance to apply the direct/interactive marketing principles they learn in class to a real world scenario. Awards are given to the top teams at an event hosted by organization sponsoring that year’s case challenge. Each award-winning team receives feedback on its submission, along with personal commendation certificates. This year’s MAXI competition will take place on April 4th in Washington D.C. For more information, please contact Collegiate MAXI Chair, Marilyn Liebrenz-Himes or DMAW EF Executive Adminstrator, Kevin Bayes.

Student Membership in the DMAW
